HAPPINESS.
The word "happiness" strikes many different ideals of what would be considered perfection as the American dream. The more stereotypical, yet popular, interpretation would be having an enjoyable, 9 AM-5 PM job that withholds a decent salary, a healthy family created with the love of your life, and to eventually retire with enough money to live comfortably until death. However, I find the idea distasteful. My dream in life is to be infinitely and undeniably happy. The type of elation that many don't have the privilege, or the open-mindedness to experience often. In today's day and age, many are so caught up with looking forward to something else. Whether it be looking forward to the end of the week, or a day off of work, or summer vacation. I have the burning desire to achieve the greatest amount of happiness, without the burden of finding something to be elated for. To be delighted about the meaningful, and beautiful ideas, cultures, scenery, and living things in the utopia of a planet we, as humans, have given the name "Earth". There is an seemingly endless amount of things to be genuinely happy for, yet we focus on the most unimportant aspects of life, such as materialism, politics, or socialism; all of which will inevitably cause corruption both physically and emotionally. Furthermore, the fiery yearning I have for pure happiness will cease to extinguish, just because I refuse to be like everyone else. I refuse to feel obligation towards the rise of mindlessness of others; to feel as though I must live my life the way others deem appropriate or successful. I will not submit myself to such a lifestyle, which is why I have determined for my dream to be undeniable happiness.
